Planetvero is not one for 4th of July weekends, due to fact that loud noises and large crowds of people insure a xanax induced sleep and a vow to never attend another Holiday function as long we live!
First and foremost, The Patio’s “Tresasure Gift Shop” didn’t last very long as assumed. It has shut down to become a…. BARBER SHOP. I suppose everybody has to be open to the tryBiz (trying all types businesses at least once). Better ideas are in serious need. A gift shop does not carry $1000 paintings and $500 metal tables, they JUST DON’T. It’s Definitely leaning more towards an antique shop. Hopefully Chuck Lamm will hit a home-run with his next venture!
We started out the weekend on Thursday by attending a little benefit for the manna project [www.mannaproject.com] which was sponsored by Amelia Graves. She will be traveling to Nicaragua to teach English to under privileged children living in the local landfill trying to support their families by selling the plastics and metals they find. It really makes you think about how good we do have it here, I couldn’t imagine just shacking up in the area landfill (Well, unless of course I was surrounded with good company).
Sluggish behavior brings good ideas we found out this weekend. Thanks to Orchid Island Bikes and Kayaks, Planetvero and friends took a sweet little ride on a 2 seater bike. Since the weekend was a holiday we were able to keep the bike for 2 extra days! I suggest everyone rent a tandem bike - it’s instantly hilarious and strange, although cycling while intoxicated is rather tricky.
Speaking of NOT driving while intoxicated. We proceeded to attend the area bar we all know and love as Riverside on Saturday after the fireworks. After drinking everything including the river water - We mean behaving ourselves as usual, a taxi service was necessary, yet none were available OR answering their phone. How are we going to enforce a safe ride when the safe ride is nowhere to be found? We finally found one called “iVANa’s 24 Hour Car Service” It was the escalade of taxi’s! She was a real gem and got us home safely. Thanks Ivana (: tisk tisk Klub Kar, Yellow Cab, etc.
